Wild Rift to add Worlds 2025 content celebrating esports history

    Sportsadda_23_JULY_Article-1

Riot Games will bring new in-game content to Wild Rift during the 2025 League of Legends (LoL) World Championship, which will take place in China. You can expect rewards and content that honour massive moments and key players in League esports.

The Wild Rift team said they wanted to do ‘something extra special’ for fans and players. They have been inspired by iconic players like Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok, Heo ‘ShowMaker’ Su, Jian ‘Uzi’ Zihao, and Kim ‘Deft’ Hyuk-kyu, and have enjoyed the 2025 season so far. Full details about the in-game content will be shared later this fall.

This is not the first time Wild Rift has worked with LoL PC. Back in April, Faker helped new players learn Ryze through a special event in the mobile game.

Since its launch in 2020, Wild Rift has changed its esports focus. After first trying to build a global scene, the game now puts more effort into the Asian market. China’s Wild Rift Super League leads the way in pro play.

In 2025, Wild Rift will hold 18 regional events through its Wild Rounds programme in places like Brazil, Korea, and the Philippines. In Europe, Riot partners with The Purge Tournament to run the Wild Circuit series.

  • Liverpool finalises £79m deal for Eintracht Frankfurt star Ekitiké

Liverpool finalises £79m deal for Eintracht Frankfurt star Ekitiké

    Sportsadda_22_JULY_Article-4

Liverpool has agreed a £79 million deal to sign Hugo Ekitiké from Eintracht Frankfurt, making him their seventh signing this summer. The club will pay £69 million upfront, with an additional £10 million based on performance goals.

Ekitiké, 23, scored 22 goals and provided 12 assists in his first Bundesliga season. His strong form helped Frankfurt qualify for the Champions League. While Newcastle also made a £70 million offer for the French forward, Ekitiké chose Liverpool.

He has agreed to a six-year deal and is set to join the team during their pre-season tour of Hong Kong and Japan. Liverpool arrived in Hong Kong on Monday ahead of their match against Milan. Ekitiké will complete his medical in the UK before flying to Asia to meet the squad.

Liverpool’s new manager, Arne Slot, wants a sharper, more dynamic front line. Ekitiké’s speed and finishing make him a strong fit. The club targeted him after failing to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle. Talks with Frankfurt moved quickly once Liverpool got the green light to discuss terms with the striker.

He joins new signings Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Armin Pecsi, and Freddie Woodman.

  • Fnatic finds a new mid laner with former T1 Academy star Poby

Fnatic finds a new mid laner with former T1 Academy star Poby

    Sportsadda_22_JULY_Article-3

After standing out at T1 Esports Academy, Yoon ‘Poby’ Sung-won is making a major move ahead of the LEC Summer Split 2025. He is joining the European side Fnatic as their latest import. He replaced Marek ‘Humanoid’ Bráda, who is now on the team’s inactive roster.

Fnatic enters the Summer Split with low expectations after they struggled during the Spring Split. During that time, they placed fourth and could not reach the Mid-Season Invitational. With Poby joining, this could be the boost they need to return to being Europe’s best.

Fnatic feels Poby perfectly matches their goals

Poby is not lacking in confidence, which is a good sign for a mid laner. The position needs players to be bold and confident, so Fnatic will have a risk-taker from the mid-lane. Fnatic’s head coach Fabian ‘GrabbZ’ Lohmann is pleased to see Poby fitting in well with the rest of the team.

GrabbZ said, ‘The first thing that stood out of Poby was his enthusiasm. Someone who can really brighten the mood of the team, and I think he’s someone who can also lead his team.’

Pakistan’s Imam-ul-Haq joins Yorkshire after Ruturaj Gaikwad withdraws

    Sportsadda_22_JULY_Article-2

Pakistan opening batter Imam-ul-Haq has joined Yorkshire as an overseas player for the rest of the season after India’s Ruturaj Gaikwad withdrew for personal reasons. Imam will be available for the Championship match against Surrey, the Metro Bank One-Day Cup, and the culmination in September.

In a statement, Yorkshire’s general manager, Gavin Hamilton, said, ‘We’re delighted that Imam has joined us and will be available immediately.’ The manager also said they were ‘naturally disappointed’ about Ruturaj’s withdrawal; however, he and the team understood his decision.

Despite the upset, Yorkshire also looks forward to working with Imam-ul-Haq due to his impressive feats as a cricket player. ‘Imam has an impressive record and is already familiar with domestic cricket in this country which will stand us in good stead for a crucial block of fixtures.’ Hamilton stated.

    Imam-ul-Haq as a cricket player

Imam-ul-Haq is the nephew of Pakistan legend Inzamam-ul-Haq. Because of this, he started taking an interest in the sport and wanted to follow in the footsteps of his legendary uncle.

Now, he has scored three centuries in 24 Tests and nine in 75 ODIs. He also played for Somerset in the 2022 County Championship and was part of Pakistan Television’s win in the President’s Cup last March.

His fee is reported to be €15 million, with add‑ons likely to push the total higher. Weah is moving from Juventus on loan, with a conditional obligation to buy in 2026.

    Who is Timothy Weah?

Timothy Weah is an American right-winger who is also capable of playing as a right-back or striker. He plays for the US Men’s National Soccer Team (USMNT) in international competitions. Weah took part in the US teams that won the CONCACAF Nations League in 2021, 2023, and 2024.

Before moving to Marseille, Weah played for Juventus, where he made 78 appearances, scored 7 goals, and made 6 assists across competitions. He was part of the squad that won the Coppa Italia in 2023/24.

  • Arsenal, United, and Liverpool tackle transfers ahead of 2025/26

Arsenal, United, and Liverpool tackle transfers ahead of 2025/26

    Sportsadda_21_JULY_Article-1

The 2025 summer transfer window is heating up as top Premier League clubs rush to bring in new players before the new season begins. Arsenal have moved forward in their chase for Sporting striker Viktor Gyökeres. Earlier, talks ended because they couldn’t agree on the price.

Eberechi Eze is still on their list, but the Gunners will likely fly to Asia for their pre-season trip without finishing a deal for a new striker. Meanwhile, Noni Madueke officially joined Arsenal on July 18, 2025, signing a five-year deal worth up to £52 million. He was also confirmed as Arsenal’s no. 20 for the upcoming season.

Manchester United is getting closer to signing Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo with a £71 million deal. They’ll pay £65 million now and another £6 million later. The 25-year-old scored 20 goals in the Premier League last season and is set to be head coach Ruben Amorim’s biggest signing so far.

There shouldn’t be any problems with Mbeumo’s contract. He might join United’s pre-season trip to the US. United is also trying to let some players go. Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Jadon Sancho have all been linked with possible moves. Talks with Barcelona are still going on about sending Rashford on loan. The deal could later turn into a full transfer.

Liverpool is deep in talks with German club Eintracht Frankfurt to sign Hugo Ekitike. The 23-year-old striker has a €100 million buy-out clause and wants to move to Anfield. His contract details should be agreed on soon.

Adding to India’s previously two injured players, cricket star Nitish Kumar Reddy, is now also suffering from an injury. Reddy injured his knee during a training session at the gym. After a trip to the hospital, the injury was revealed to be a torn ligament.

Due to the gravity of the situation, he cannot play the rest of the matches. This is a massive blow against his team as they prepare for the Manchester Test on July 23, 2025.
