Tottenham have signed Mohammed Kudus from West Ham for £55 million, marking their first deal with their London rivals in 14 years. Spurs want the 24-year-old to boost their attack and help new manager Thomas Frank’s plans for a quicker, more direct style.
Kudus had a strong first season at West Ham, scoring eight goals and adding six assists. However, he struggled last year under Graham Potter’s system, playing out of position and losing his edge.
Spurs believe he can return to the form he showed at Ajax, where he impressed in the Champions League. Frank values Kudus’s speed, pressing, and ability to play both wide and centrally.
Despite a dip in dribbling success last season, he remains one of the league’s most active attackers. He also brings versatility, energy, and determination—qualities Spurs hope will improve their 64-goal league tally from last season.
Day two of the 2025 Dota 2 Esports World Cup (EWC) came with some surprises. While some heavyweights struggled, rising teams seized the moment. Team Liquid, the reigning TI champions, stayed strong with a clean 2-0 win over PARIVISION. However, other top teams didn’t have the same luck.
Virtus.pro fell to the bottom of Group C after losing all four of their games. Defeats to Tundra Esports and Team Yandex pushed VP into the elimination phase. They were the first team to get locked in. At the same time, underdogs like NAVI and HEROIC picked up big wins and put more pressure on the top teams.
In the round-robin group stage, only one team from each group goes straight to the playoffs. The others must fight in the elimination phase. This increases the pressure with every match. Shopify Rebellion is in trouble after losing two games in a row and now risks getting knocked out.
As the $3 million Dota 2 event heads into Day 3, the gap between top teams and underdogs is getting smaller. This sets up a playoff race that could go in any direction.
Guernsey’s run in the T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier came to a close with a 73-run loss to hosts Netherlands at Voorburg Cricket Club. The Dutch hit 172 for 1 in 20 overs, led by Max O’Dowd’s 92 not out, his best in the event. He and skipper Scott Edwards, who made 48 not out, built a strong 116-run stand.
In reply, Guernsey only reached 99 for 9, with Bradley top scoring on 26. He also took the only Dutch wicket, ending with 1 for 28. Michael Levitt grabbed 3 for 11, cutting through the middle order. The win puts the Dutch in second place behind Italy, who beat Scotland. The top two will clash on Friday for a spot in the 2026 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
Guernsey lost all three games played and are out of the race. Their match with Scotland was called off due to rain.
The 2025 Summer transfer window began on 16 June, and major signings have already happened. Plenty of high-profile transfers have already been made public. See who the top-billing players of the English Premier League (EPL) are and where they are transferring to for the 2025/26 competitive season.
Florian Wirtz (from Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool)
Leading the list is German midfielder Florian Wirtz, who joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen for £116 million, making him one of the most expensive transfers in football history.
Leverkusen had hoped to extend Wirtz’s contract, but the midfielder opted to move to Liverpool in May, prompting swift negotiations. The German playmaker confirmed his decision in May 2025, which led both clubs to begin formal talks.
Matheus Cunha (from Wolverhampton to Manchester United)
Manchester United is investing heavily in its attack and has signed Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Brazilian forward joined on 12 June for £62.5 million, agreeing to a five-year deal with an optional extra year.
Cunha carries high expectations as part of coach Ruben Amorim’s effort to rebuild the club after last season’s run. He is expected to lead the line alongside Bryan Mbeumo and Bruno Fernandes.
João Pedro (from Brighton to Chelsea)
In an impressive £60 million agreement, Chelsea signed João Pedro from Brighton. Newcastle also bid £50 million, but Pedro made it clear he only wanted Chelsea.
He flew to the United States, joining Chelsea’s Club World Cup (CWC) lineup for his official debut with the Blues. His first match with the team was at the quarter-finals versus Palmeiras on the 5th of July, which they won 2-1.
Tijjani Reijnders (from AC Milan to Manchester City)
Following Kevin De Bruyne’s move to Napoli, Manchester City signed Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan for £46.3 million. The Dutch midfielder will be part of City’s midfield rebuild for the 2025/26 Premier League season. Despite the team’s early exit at the Club World Cup, he impressed manager Pep Guardiola with his performances and versatility, suggesting he could be a strong addition to the squad.
Milos Kerkez (from AFC Bournemouth to Liverpool)
Milos Kerkez from AFC Bournemouth has effectively moved to Liverpool on 26 June with a five-year contract at £40 million. The Hungarian left-back is determined to play a heavy part in the club’s success.
The move addresses Liverpool’s ageing defence, with veterans like Andrew Robertson and Virgil van Dijk already in their 30s. Kerkez’s inclusion adds a younger, dynamic spirit to the club’s strong lineup.

The 2025/26 EPL season is already shaping up to be one of the most exciting yet, with these high-profile transfers adding fresh firepower to top clubs. As teams reinforce their lineups and fans gear up for kickoff, all eyes will be on how these new signings perform under pressure.
Being inducted into the Hall of Fame is one of the greatest honours awarded to the best and most influential personalities in any discipline. The International Cricket Council (ICC) oversees who gets the honour in the world of cricket. On 9th June 2025, they announced Mahendra Singh ‘MS’ Dhoni, the latest entry in the ICC Hall of Fame.
With this announcement, MS Dhoni is officially the 11th Indian cricketer to be inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame as one of the 7 inductees of 2025. The legend is still active in Indian leagues, but he officially retired from international cricket in 2020. In his tenure, he is well-known as the biggest playmaker and game changer in Team India.
Who is MS Dhoni?
MS Dhoni was born in Ranchi, Jharkhand (before it was separated from Bihar), India, and it is where he debuted at 18 years old in 1999 for first-class cricket. He played for his hometown in the 1999/2000 Ranji Trophy season, where he scored a half-century in his first match.
Since then, MS Dhoni has made a splash across all cricket formats, namely Test, One Day International (ODI), and Twenty20 (T20). He is also the captain for the majority of his tenure, in both domestic and international cricket across all formats. MS Dhoni is held in high regard, not just among Indian cricketers and fans, but worldwide.
MS Dhoni’s legacy – The lore behind his greatness
MS Dhoni’s cricketing background is as follows:
The only captain in history to win all three major ICC trophies:
ICC T20 World Cup (2007)
ICC Cricket World Cup (2011)
ICC Champions Trophy (2013)
Led India to become the number 1 Test cricket team ranking for the first time in 2009.
Scored over 10,000 runs in ODIs while maintaining a batting average above 50 for most of his career.
Known for his ice-cold finishing abilities, with multiple game-winning sixes.
Besides his impressive statistics, Dhoni also changed the way India approached cricket. He backed young talent, made bold field decisions, and led by example, often putting team success over personal milestones. MS Dhoni sealed the 2011 World Cup final with a towering six that remains etched in the minds of cricket fans worldwide.
Ms Dhoni is a legend who still proves his mettle
MS Dhoni is still active in the professional scene, but limits his participation to local events. There are constant rumours of his impending retirement, and he has entertained the thought. Cricket fans can rest easy knowing that they can still see more of the legend.
Even when he eventually retires as a professional cricketer, he is dedicated to staying in the sport—either as a coach, a mentor, or a pundit. His commitment to cricket, his franchise, and fans remains strong as ever.
Fabián Ruiz gave a strong performance on Wednesday, scoring two goals as Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) beat Real Madrid 4-0 to secure a spot at the Club World Cup final. The Spanish midfielder took advantage of Madrid’s weak defence during a fast and sharp first half, exposing the flaws of manager Xabi Alonso’s new system.
With Dean Huijsen suspended and Trent Alexander-Arnold injured, Real Madrid’s defence was badly affected. Abandoning their usual five-man backline, Madrid conceded two goals in just nine minutes. Ruiz and Ousmane Dembélé made the most of their chances and scored easily.
Ruiz struck again in the 24th minute. Later in the match, sub Gonçalo Ramos added a fourth goal. Real Madrid never came close to troubling keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Kylian Mbappé’s return also further strengthened PSG.
Ruiz said it was a perfect game when he spoke to DAZN. After beating Inter Milan 5-0 in the Champions League final, PSG now moves on to face Chelsea in the final. Another trophy is now within reach.
Team Liquid dominated the Esports World Cup group stage with a perfect 4-0 record. They beat strong teams like Shopify Rebellion and PARIVISION in intense matches that ended in under 30 minutes. Their offlane Venomancer plan worked well and stopped even the toughest opponents.
Meanwhile, Virtus.pro started poorly, losing all four of their games. The Russian team couldn’t beat Yandex or Tundra Esports. Their early losses drop them in the rankings, sending them to the elimination phase.
Team Falcons also struggled on their home ground. They finished with a 1-3 record. Poor planning and weak play left Saudi fans disappointed as they fell short against Execration and BetBoom Team. With more matches ahead, they must sharpen their game to stay in the race.
The tournament promises tough matchups and a huge cash prize. Fans can expect more surprises as the group stage ends this week.
Scotland held off a late push by the Netherlands to win by six runs and boost their World Cup hopes on Tuesday, July 8. They posted 148 for 9, led by Oli Hairs with 52, with support from Charlie Tear, who made 32 and Richie Berrington, who added 28. Despite early losses, such as George Munsey’s dismissal on the third ball, Scotland found key runs.
The Dutch reply reached 142 for 7. Noah Croes stayed unbeaten on 52, and Michael Levitt scored 22. However, Scotland’s bowlers kept control. Chris Greaves led with 3 for 26, McMullen took two early wickets, and Brad Currie bowled Roelof van der Merwe for 20 near the end.
The win gives Doug Watson’s side one win and one draw after their first match against Guernsey was washed out. Scotland now matches Italy, who also have a win and a draw.
The second Esports World Cup (EWC) has started in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It features a record-breaking $70 million prize pool across 25 titles. Although players don’t play for their countries, global teams like Team Liquid are getting a lot of attention.
Team Liquid is based in the Netherlands and trains full-time players. They work with game, fitness, and mindset coaches. Their team base has streaming rooms, practice areas, and even a chef on site to help players stay sharp and focused.
EA FC player Levi de Weerd says the team’s strong support helps build teamwork and leads to good results. Apex Legends player YanYa also says the EWC is the best time he’s had in esports. Team Liquid is going for first place after finishing second last year. There’s $7 million waiting for the top team.
However, the event’s Saudi support has caused some backlash because of the country’s record on human rights. Co-CEO Victor Goossens said it’s a hard situation. Still, he believes playing in the EWC is important for the team’s future. He said they need to stay active now if they want to still be around in five or ten years.
England captain Ben Stokes is getting more heat after another weak game with the bat in a huge 336-run loss to India at Edgbaston. India scored over 1,000 runs across two innings, adding more pressure on Stokes during his two-year drop in form.
The 34-year-old got out for a golden duck and then scored just 33. It’s now been two years since his last Test hundred. Since then, his average is only 30.55, and he’s had a hard time with spin bowling, getting out to spinners 16 times in his last 25 dismissals, with an average of 18.43.
Stokes’ choice to bowl first on a flat pitch didn’t work out. Critics, including former Indian batter Mohammed Kaif, have raised questions about his decisions and current form. His rival, Shubman Gill, scored 397 more runs than him in the match, setting a new record.
Even with knee and hamstring problems, Stokes is still bowling and has taken nine wickets this summer. However, many believe trying to stay a full-time all-rounder may be hurting his batting. As England gets ready for the next Test, the pressure on Stokes is growing. He needs to get back in form or face hard questions about doing both roles.
